Zapla Flora started in a sunny apartment in San Francisco in 2024. The three of us — Maya, Jordan, and Priya — had been swapping cuttings for years. Friends kept asking where to buy plants that would not die in two weeks, and we kept giving the same answer: it depends on your light, your schedule, and how forgiving you want the plant to be. Eventually we decided to just sell the plants ourselves and answer those questions properly.
We work with two small nurseries we visit in person. Plants are potted up, given a week to settle, and only then listed for sale. We ship Tuesday through Thursday so nothing sits in a warehouse over a weekend. Cooler months get a heat pack, no extra charge.
We are not trying to be the biggest plant shop on the internet. We want to be the one you trust enough to recommend to a friend. If we ever stop being that, please email us and tell us.
